Hellbrunn Castle in Salzburg
Explore Hellbrunn Castle and embark on an entertaining journey back in time to the era of Prince Archbishop Markus Sittikus.

Hellbrunn Castle was built in the 17th century under Markus Sittich von Hohenems, later Prince of Lorraine, and served as an imposing residence for the princes. It captivates visitors with its sparkling gardens and lively art and court culture. The water features, which combine architecture and garden art into a harmonious whole, are among the most outstanding Baroque complexes in Europe. The water automata are hidden in five grottos and feature water-powered figures - a unique ensemble and a technical masterpiece.
To the east of the castle is an extensive park of around 60 hectares to discover, linger and marvel at. Experts describe it as an artistic hybrid of a Mannerist Gesamtkunstwerk and a Wunderkammer of garden architecture: landscaped nature on the one hand, near-natural biotopes on the other; wide meadows, ponds and hills in places, including play areas for children.
The best way to get there is via HOP ON HOP OFF stations 7 (yellow line), 13 and 23 (blue line).
